Today I thought I would pay tribute to my big brother, Arthur and his wife, Jackie. Would you believe these two have been married 56 years! Now that’s a really long time by anyone’s standards, and for that, I really admire them. The picture above was taken about 13 years ago when they were sharing a milkshake at Johnny Rocket’s, at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
They met on a blind date, which was only half blind; I say that because Art had spotted Jackie at a Grange Meeting, and asked someone about her. When he learned that she had the same last name as an acquaintance of his, Art called on that acquaintance and asked him if he had a sister named Jackie. As it turned out, he did; a blind date was arranged, and the rest is history!
As part of that history, they brought five handsome sons into the world. These boys grew into fine young men and now have families of their own, which means Art and Jackie have grandkids and great grandkids. Those sons are pictured below: left to right—Steve, Dan, Pete, Jim and Ron. (This picture is not really recent, but it is the only one I had of all five of them together.)
