Who Says Women Can't Drive?

Let's face it--we females take a lot of crap about our driving. I think much of it is because as a gender, we are gifted in the area of multi-tasking. (Who among us could ever survive being a wife and mother without having honed that skill?)

Most of us can drive while applying lipstick, combing our hair, and disciplining our kids if need be. It's not that we choose to do these things; usually the requirements of our everyday living demand it. The pace of our existence leaves us no other options.

I'm not saying that we're perfect drivers; some of us may have our limitations. For example, something happens to me when I slip into reverse. I lose my ability to discern right from left; backing up in a straight line for more than 10 feet requires more effort than taking the Graduate Record Exam, which I recall was no day at the park! (I hated those analogy questions--"Dog is to tree as apple is to: (a)chimney, (b) elephant or (c) swimming pool") But I digress; back to driving.

The video below shows a woman driver at her best--we've all encountered that situation and wish we had handled it with the same skill and aplomb!

haha! She goes girl! Love her, wish I could do that. And what is it about men watching you park in reverse that suddenly makes you go all screwy? in the UK if you can't reverse park, you can't survive driving, but get a man to watch me and I get all loosey goosey.

Classic! I avoid driving as much as I can because I have become so nervous. I think it is all the people around me telling me that I am a bad driver that made me this way!

Great video!! I often wish, when I am trying to park, that I was Samantha =[on Bewitched] just snap my fingers and the car would automatically park......especially when a guy is watching me....

I used to know a girl in highschool who curled her eyelashes and put the mascara on in the car. She was a BAD driver. : )

Only a woman could have figured out how to park in small space like that one. Just like we figured out how to stuff our fat babies into snowsuits, how to vacuum an entire house without sacrificing one Lego, and how to fit under a child's bed when it's time to play hide and seek. We are amazing!
Thanks for stopping by today!

I'm like you - I'm a competent driver, and multi-tasking is my middle name, but I have a backing disability. My poor car's rear end has a permanent dent where I had a small altercation with the garage door. I could have used the lady in the video that day.
