Silent Sunday: Visit Saco, Maine

I have a confession to make.  I really intended to get out and take some pictures around town for my Silent Sunday post, but yesterday it was FREEZING outside.  The chill factor brought the temperature below Zero Farenheit.  I just couldn't get myself to brave the wind and go out and take photos!  So, I found these on the city of Saco Website and thought I would share them.

This is a shot of the Saco River.  In the summer. it's a favorite place for canoe rides, picnics, and tubing.

There are many restaurants serving Maine Lobster!  Yummy!

There's also miles of  white sandy beaches--great places for swimming, sunning, and picnics!

All in all, Saco is a great place to live!

Maine is one of my favorite states; I love, love, love the rocky coastline. My favorite part of Maine is Boothbay Harbor. Many happy times there.

If this is your town, it's an awesome place Eva! If not, thanks for sharing. I'd like to go there someday. It's been years since I was last.

You are one smart Lady - no need to get out in the freezing weather today! These photos at this time of year are surprisingly comforting - maybe because there's hope we'll warm up sometime???

Saco is lovely. Beach. Very cool restaurants. River. You found some really good photos to show what it looks in your town. I sooooo wish I could have some of that lobster.

LadyFi: Summer's coming!

VodkaLogic: It is pretty; where you canoed would have been north of my city a bit.

PJ: I love Boothbay Harbor, too. My high school class has had their reunion there a couple of times. We spent the weekend and did the Cabbage Island Clambake cruise. We had dinner at Fisherman's Wharf the night before the cruise and stayed at the Friendship. We had our 40th and 45th reunions there.

Lucy: The river photo is a few miles north of my town; the restaurant is actually about 3 miles from my house, and that beach is about 4 miles from my house.

Sonya: I agree about the cold and snow! I'm ready for an early spring--but I'll be surprised if it happens.

Jane: Come back often, and thanks!

Kaishon: I'm with you!

Queen-sized: If you come back this summer, let me know, and I'll meet you for a drink somewhere!

Blackberry: We all are anxious for warmer weather!

Marla: Maine is worth the visit, you'll find.

Techno: I'll post some of my own pictures eventually. I'mm such a wimp about braving the cold!

Looks like a fun place to visit (and live). But I'm wondering how you could canoe over those rocks! Now that would be an adventure!

P.S. Freezing here too. In TEXAS!

Now I am craving some warm weather and some great lobster!!

I'd love to live near a lovely beach like that one. I'd spend all my free summer time there. Your town is beautiful.

I always had an issue with the whole lobster thing. I get sad seeing them in tanks in the supermarket. Yet I am disgusted with lobsters for being so damn tasty. Stupid lobsters. The only time I ever had lobster was in first class on a flight to Europe once, that I upgraded to with airmiles. They gave me a lobster appetizer. I wanted to hate it so badly but alas it was delicious.

I have no idea where this comment was going...
