Beware the Blue Funk!

Did you ever have a day when you just felt you were taking up much more space than usual?  I'm having that kind of day.  I think the cold weather is getting me down.  I've not been out and about as much as usual, and I'm feeling like a blob.  I feel like every bite I eat is taking up permanent residence on my butt, my belly, or that area of  my arms where I should have biceps.

I need to get out of this blue funk!  I'm meeting an old friend for lunch today, so at least I'll  be venturing out of the house.  Then tomorrow is Silver Sneakers (aka Chamber of Horrors) Day,  so that will be good, too.
Maybe I'm just coming down from my 5 minutes of fame as the Sunday Roastee;  maybe I'm missing my sister, who's on vacation, and I'm unable to laugh with her several times per day;  or maybe it's just a freak feeling which will have passed by tomorrow.  I'll let you know.

I'm so cold my feet won't move and being footloose this is no good.

I know what you mean about being in a blue funk. I keep saying to my dh let's move somewhere warm, like Costa Rica or Botswana. Buy us a little cottage and start over so we can feel young and adventurous again! Keep the brain cells moving, learn a new language (Spanish for CR).

Well, it may happen, who knows.

Good luck with your funk. Wallow in it a bit and then get over it. Me too! Cheers!

I hope you had fun with your friend at lunch, Eva. Sometimes getting out of the house is all it takes.

Oh, I know that feeling so well...

Aw Eva, I hate those days! Keep your chin up lady, we all go through these blues from time to time and I sure know the whole ''take up more space'' feelings. If it makes you feel better, I'm growing an inch by the second and getting kicked in the guts! (oh the joys of babies)

Enjoy lunch and to hell with what you order....just have fun and get chatty over something yummy! xx

Oh yeah I think we all have those days. Cheer up , get ya some sun, albeit the frigid sun, it's still good for you and your mood and brain

Don't let it get you down Eva. Even my little dog, who is always FILLED with energy, has been sleeping her life away for the past two days, probably because she doesn't like to pee on the ice!

The weather has something to do with it, and being winter and all. I know you'll pass through this with flying colors and have us all laughing along with you! I know that feeling.

I also feel like a huge blog! But you know what? It's not getting me down. Hey Eva! It's February -- only 28 days! Huh? That's good huh? Then in March, the weather will become better and little green things will sprout from the ground. I hope you cheer up soon, sweetie!

I think it's just this time of year. I've felt very unmotivated lately.

I know just what you mean....I havent been able to get motivated in a week now, but it has been that long since the sun has shown its lovely face, I think that has allot to do with it...

Joanna: Thanks! I plan ;to!

Eddie: She's a former co-worker I haven't seen for about 5 years. I'm looking forward to it.

MissFoot: I think of things like that, but I would miss my siblings and kids and grandkids too much.

PJ: I agree...getting out of the house is key!

Mommakin: Nice to know I'm not the only one!

Mesina: I guess I should be grateful there's no little one kicking me on the inside...I'd make the Guinness Book of World Records if there were at my age!

Singed: Yeah, there's sunshine today. That should help.

Gaston: I hate peeing on the ice too!

DJan: Your words of encouragement are appreciated.

Glen: Thanks.

Sandy: Looking forward to those little sprouts of green!!

Alissa: I think you are right!

I'm sorry you are feeling down. What is "silver sneakers?" I think you should dress up like the lady in the bottom pic and have fun with it!

Stephen: I think you're probably right!

Retired: I skipped dessert!

Speaking: I actually have been sleeping well. I think it's just the winter doldrums!

QueenSized: Isn't it just the worst feeling?

Mami: Me too!

Blue: Move on Funk! Blue Violet has spoken!!!

Jules: Silver Sneakers is an exercise program for seniors at the gym.

Oh yeah, we all feel like blobs sometimes. I try to take it as a good sign that some part of me wants to get up and move, and then try and indulge that part of me. Enjoy lunch!

I'm impressed that you could GET OUT in below 0 weather (and that you want to!) We're even iced in here in NC.

However, tomorrow I'm getting out even if have to rent a helicopter--haircut/color appt. and we're out of Diet Cokes and wine. I can only be so primitive around here. I MUST get out. . . my butt is putting out roots on the sofa. (I just googled to see what those little hairy roots are called. The answer? Hairy roots.)

Hope lunch was delightful. Days are getting longer. Hang on!

Yea, keep us posted! and I do understand what you mean: In Oslo, Norway we've had around -15C for more than a week and plenty of snow too.

Nice photo card!

I hear that keeping our few pounds on hips and butt and wherever might actually be beneficial for those days when reserves are needed.

I knew this with my mother's sickness. She lost so much weight with just one episode that it took her another five years to get back to a more reasonable weight.

Maybe it's just the mid-winter blues. I hope getting out today helped! XO

I'll bet having lunch with your friend will lift your spirits. Sometimes you just need to get out there and share a laugh and a good meal with someone you care about!

Getting out and about will hopefully help change your mood.

I get that way as well from time to time. Usually a good sweat session at the gym helps. It's just talking myself into going that's the hard part.
