Silent Sunday: The Barber is In

It seems one day last week my 7 year-old grandson decided to give his 3 year-old brother a haircut.  He waited until his mom went upstairs to do some housework.  Austin then carried a barstool into the bathroom and placed it in front of the vanity.  Three year-old Carter, totally in agreement with the plan, climbed up and took his seat on the stool so he could watch the process in the mirror.  Just like the barber does, Austin put a plastic cape over his brother to keep the cuttings off him (in this case using his Superman cape turned backwards) and proceeded to give Carter an new "do."  Fortunately, Mom intervened before Austin could complete his plan to give Carter a mohawk!

Carter was actually very proud of hes new look, as you can tell.  Mom, however, was not as thrilled with the chunks missing out of his bangs and sideburn!

I think Austin has a big future ahead of him as Hairdresser to the Stars!

I remember my daughter weilding the scissors on herself when she was about three. I'd told her not to cut the dollies hair, as it wouldn't grow! She had the sense to know hers would, I guess. LOL !

This is so funny! At some point in every kid's life, they are either the barber or the customer. And it's always priceless!!!

I think it's wonderful, and I'm glad that the kids had a kind of fun that can be repaired! He is an adorable guy, Eva, I can see why you are enchanted with him...

I love the fact that he was so resourceful to use the superman cape for a barber cape!! Now, THAT'S smarts!!

I think he DEFINITELY has a future as a stylist!! Thanks so much for the smile!!

Oh this is so darned cute Eva and I love the way you tell the story! My kids did not give each other hair cuts...only themselves and they each did it. The BIG story in the family is how MOM (me) gave my son Kyle a haircut one time and nipped off some skin on the top of one ear!! Oh my God that was bad! Great story and I love the photos! In the last one he is looking a little confused..."Ok...mom...so if you are so mad??...why are you taking pictures of me?" Hilarious!

Jules: Glad to bring you a laugh!

Tgoette: I don't know; Superman might need some hair extensions! lol

A2Z: This is the same little guy who referred to himself as Carter, the Farter.

jinksy: Gotta' love 'em!

PJ: It must be some childhood rite of passage.

Elenka: Proud Grandma, here!

DJan: You just want to eat him up, he's so darned cute!

Lolli: His mother couldn't stifle the giggles!

JenJen: Like I said, fortunately their Mom intervened before it became a mohawk!

Steven: Not sure if it's superhero or little devil!

Ilovepink: Thanks for visiting. I'll return the favor soon.

AnythingFits: It was obviously a well thought-out plan!

Debbie: I think you're right about that facial expression!

Margaret: Like I said--a rite of passage!

Kristina: ah, grandsons--barber and rocker! What more could I ask?

Hahaha! I gave our dog a "trim" as a kid! I think it must be a phase kids go through!

Bahaha! Aw I don't know. It looks "edgy"!

Besides, he's SEVEN. My hair looks like it got caught in the lawn mower when I attempt to cut it, and I'm substantially older than seven. :)

What a riot! Those photos are sure to be endless sources of family laughs throughout the years. I sort of get the same results when I try to "trim" my own bangs.

My buddy's daughter did her own hair when she was 4. She came out of it with really, really, bad bangs. Having a sibling do it for her would have been a step up.

I used to cut my doll's hair, but not my brother's...although he probably wouldn't let me anyway....

Susan: We had dinner with the culprits today. It's growing fast, so it's not too noticable. It's been a little over a week.

Jess: Oh, no. They have a Golden Retriever named Baxter! I hope they don't decide to give him a grooming! lol

Blissed: Yeah, I thought the Superman cape was an ingenious move.

Veg: It is cute. I love it!

Deb: His Mom tried to trim his bangs a little so it wouldn't be so obvious. It's growing out now, so it's better.

Canadian: I'm just glad he didn't get all the way to the Mohawk!!

Joan: Amazingly, Carter was totally on board with the idea!

LovePink: things are fine here!

Laura: Glad you stopped by! hope you'll come often. Hope your snow doesn't last too long!
