Presidents and the Queen

Someone  sent me these pictures, and I just had to post them.  It's amazing the span of decades that the Queen of England has been on the throne. Prince Charles has spent the better part of a lifetime awaiting his turn at the helm, so to speak!

With President Obama

With President George W. Bush

With President Clinton

With the senior President Bush

With President Reagan

With President Carter

With President Ford

With President Nixon

With President Kennedy

 Immediately Below, With President Eisenhower

Directly Above With President Truman

This gives a whole new meaning to the phrase, "Long live the Queen!'

How many do you remember?

Wow, that's really something when you see it all together like this!

Despite all that crazy inbreeding for centuries, the royals sure do live to be quite an age, as a rule, don't they?

She was quite stunning when she was young, miss Elizabeth.

Wow, that's amazing to see her pictures all lined up like that, from most recent to oldest. She really has seen a lot over the years!

oh that was really fun Eva. We all know how old she is and how long she's been "on the job" -- and poor poor Prince Charles -- but wow those pictures really bring it on home! Gosh, I'm sadly afraid I remember all of those presidents (but I was a very very little girl with Pres. Truman was there). So I'm not QUTTE as old as the Queen. And I've been retired for years now ;>)

What a smile, in the photo with Eisenhower!

That was awesome. I dare say she may outlive poor Charles after all. Must be all the clean living.

Hi Eva
Great post and she is our lovely Queen, isn't she? I confess I know most of the Presidents and remember as far back as President JF Kennedy.
Peole here are of mixed opinion about the Monarchy. Most want our constitution to continue as a Demacratic Monarchy but some want to do away with it and for us to be a Republic. Shame if that ocurred.
I have a sneaking suspicion most of you Americans like her.
Yet a lot of us are not so keen on Prince Charles after how he treated Princess Dianna.

Oh, what fun! And I must say, she has always been so stylish...except for that...whatever it is she's wearing in the photo with Reagan...even he seems to cracking up at it!

I think you have another spammer there a few posts above (by Anonymous). Those pictures of the queen are priceless, and yes, she was beautiful when she was young, and quite attractive even today, don't you think? I don't remember very many because I wasn't thinking about politics before Nixon...

Mary: Isn't it? I had never thought about how long she's been Queen.

Veg: That she was. And she's still stunning in her way, today.

Helene: She sure has!

Sallie: I don't remember Truman,
But I do remember all the way back to Eisenhower. I remember the slogan: "I like Ike!"

Steam: Yes..that was quite a smile.

Tgoette: I hope she does!

Eddie: She is lovely; and I find Prince William and Prince Henry endearing.

Ethel: That dress in the Reagan picture caught my eye, too. Dreadful!

Djan: I think she is still an attractive lady today, too.

Glen: She's very Regal.

Kate: I loved the pictures, too, which is why I had to share them.

Steven: I agree; fabulous and amazing!

Kitty: I suspect you are not alone in that wish!

I remember them all, sad to say. I got to meet Eisenhower when I was 11 years old in 1958 and I also met Nixon a few years later. Boy, time flies....your pictures span a long, long reign for Elizabeth.

Lord, she has the same purse and the same hairdo! What's up with that?

That is awesome! You know, her mother was like a thousand years old when she died (ok, she was 102). I'm pretty sure if I had a real crown, I'd live forever too - I mean, heavy or not, who wants to take that off?

I can remember back to Kennedy!!! I was alive before that, but apparently I have no memory from before 1960's..... Thank God I stopped doing drugs!!

What's up with that getting high comment?

It is amazing to see her with all those Presidents. What a life?!

I remember all of them, and I remember when Elizabeth became queen. It was all very...royal. Remember when Charles was young and wore his hair in bangs, and people whispered that there was something very wrong with him?

I was young when Kennedy was around, so after that - she has aged well!

The Lucy and Dick Show said...

Wow! She's such a great old gal! Imagine how tired she must be with all the whoop-la for so many years! Charles is never going to get the crown either, I don't think. It'll go to one of his sons.

I love these photos of the Queen and all the Presidents she has consulted with. I am a fan of hers, she has a great style, perfect for a queen, and does lots of good works.
Yeah, Prince Charles has had to develop patience!

My goodness. I never saw pictures of her in her youth. How lovely.
