Thanking the Academy--and Forfeit

Two people have presented me with the same award, so I'm going to acknowledge it in one post.  I'm flattered that these two picked me, when there are so many bloggers out there who are far more deserving!

The Beautiful Blogger Award was presented to  me first by Janeice at One Moment at a Time and by
Hillbilly Dunn  .   These two have been followers of mine and I have followed them for a while.  Both have great blogs and are sweet persons.

As always the award comes with strings.  I'm not big on strings, and I usually cut them down to a size that is manageable for me.  So--Here are Evil Eva's Blogstrings:

1.  Acknowledge receipt of the award by linking to the presenter's website.    (done)

2.  Tell your readers four things about yourself that they don't already know.(This part is tough--there's not much my readers don't know about me; I tend to be a blabbermouth and don't keep many secrets!}(done)
             A.  When I was 35, I had a swimming pool and swam 55 laps around it every morning rain or shine
                   during the summer.
             B.  I was voted female Class Flirt in my High School Yearbook. (I'm really reaching, here!)
             C.  I spoke only French until I was 6 years old.  Now I can barely remember it.
              D. My first kiss was in the coatroom in first grade;  Tommy Smith was the culprit.
(Tommy was voted the male Class Flirt in my High School Yearbook!)

3.  Pass the Award on to 3  more deserving bloggers. ( I just can't pick 3....and picking them all would be meaningless, I suppose, but I follow over 100 blogs, and I have 227 followers.  All are wonderful bloggers.)
Here's where I fail.....I just can't do it.  It's probably best if people not give me awards in the future;  I am horrible at following rules.  Any of my followers is welcome to take this award with my blessings.  They all deserve it more than I.

4.  If you do take the award and pass it on, notify the recipients of the gesture.

I really stink at this.....I'm sorry.  When I first started and was just reading a few blogs it was doable, but not anymore.  I officially forfeit any future awards (assuming anyone decides that I deserve one) because I can't abide by the rules.

I don't know if that would stop anyone from still giving you an award!
You are awesome!

Congratulations, and I admire your courage in not passing it on! I usually put off acknowledging mine until I forget about them, and then the people who gave them to me hate me. Sigh.

Congratulations!!! You are beautiful! And I love that you break the rules! My kind of woman!

You're too hard on yourself!! Don't worry about not passing the award along, it's impossible to choose, isn't it?

Ok, class flirt and kissing in the cloakroom? I think I may have met my long, lost twin!! Boy, you and I are going to be GOOD friends!!

Congrats on your award!

Eva, you are so honest and good at blogging. I got awards at the beginning and found it very difficult to give somebody else the burden of an award with rules. I'll link them to this post if necessary! Amazing that you spoke French for six years and don't remember it. But I'll bet your accent is perfect!

Class flirt, eh? I can absolutely see that. It's not like you've grown out of that (I hope!) :)

I wish I could speak french!

I like how you adjusted the strings!! LOL!

Do what I do: take the award and run!!!

I don't bother with the required number of "winners" of blog awards. After you've done that a few times, you're all used up and no one wants an award from you anymore. So, I pass on an award if the spirit moved me. Otherwise, I acknowledge it, admit that I refuse to abide by the rules and that's that!

55 times around the pool! Wow!

congrats.....and I can tottaly see you as the class flirt ;)

Oh I'm the same way with awards...I love and appreciate them and of course the gesture behind it but I can never keep up and then I feel bad picking which bloggers to pass them on to. I always acknowledge them with a thank you but I admit that I totally suck at following the rules!

That's amazing that you spoke only French until you were 6 and you don't remember it. Also swimming 55 laps in the pool on a daily basis is total dedication. I'd go round one lap and quit.

Janiece: Thank you!

MikeWJ: I feel better now.

MiddleAged: Thanks!

AnythingFits: There are so many talented writers out there! I suspected we'd be good friends when I saw the name of your blog!

DJan: I grew up in a French Canadian household; my mother insisted we speak nothing but French at home. I was the youngest of 7. She became less strict about it as I started school, which is why I'm not as fluent as my older siblings.

Veg: Hard to believe, isn't it?

Hillbilly: I just couldn't think of anything more to say about myself--and choosing receipients is just too tough!

Sandy: Thanks-- I feel better knowing I'm not alone.

Steven: Who, Me???

Helene: Nice to know others break the rules, too. And I had to work up to the 55 laps. At one point I was swimming 25 laps 3 times a day, then I worked up to 55 once a day.

Just enjoy the award. Somebody took the time to send it to you and all that goes with it. So. Enjoy! Besides, how else can you give us those tidbits that make you stand out from the crowd. Oui!

I feel the same way about passing it on. I don't like picking.

I did the same thing...I stopped accepting awards and took the ones I had gotten off of my blog...because I just couldn't "pick" favorites to pass them onto any more....
Plus when you think of it, it is all of us bloggers patting each other's blogs all the time...the awards that would really be nice is if some publisher or magazine discovered us, right?

Oh, you're too modest. Congrats on your Bloggy Bling!

Congratulations on your award!

You crack me up! You totally deserve this award, and any others you might get in the future! Is there a story behind speaking only French that I have missed somewhere in your blog? Would love to read/hear it...

You're going to cause the whole system to break down! It'll be anarchy! Anarchy I tell you!

Aw, I'm just kidding though. :-D Eva, you're a rebel with tact and grace.

Eva Gallant said...

Joe: Oh, no! You mean I'm responsible for ANARCHY?????

dogimo said...

Nobody's responsible for anarchy Eva! That's the whole problem. No one will take responsibility, they're just running around blissfully in peaceful collaboration and cooperation with each other, free from governmental interference.

No, I'm kidding - don't buy it, that's the picture those anarchists want you to believe.

More seriously, I couldn't abide the award conditions either. In fact because of the whole "conditions" aspect I set up a whole separate blog for my awards! All 3 of 'em, I think.
