Nude Rugby?

**Caution:  Today's post is not for the faint-hearted.  If nudity or risque remarks offend you, this may not be a place you want to be today.  Come back tomorrow;  I promise I'll be good then.

Nude Rugby?

I can't believe I missed this event.  I can't rely on you guys to give me a "heads up" on anything!  You all know I'm a sports fan.  I watch the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics faithfully!  And naked, men, well, they're right up there with my favorite sports!

Back in June, at Logan Park, in Dunedin, New Zealand, the annual nude rugby match was held.  How that got by my radar is beyond me.  I'm usually right on top of such things....well not right on top of,  but at least aware of such happenings.  Athletic males letting it all hang out, and I missed it?  There's just something wrong about that!  Fortunately I was able to locate a few photos of the event  and a video of a "warm up" cheer which I can share with you.

No question--these guys are all stars!

As I understand it the game even had a streaker.  How do you streak at a naked sports event?  Why, fully clothed, of course!  And it looks like this could be a "hands on" event for spectators!   Stars up for grabs!  Of course,  with the game being in New Zealand, I could not have attended.  My fixed income as a retiree has its limitations.  All I can do is wish I had been there.

And while I'm wishing, I wish the Boston Celtics would play a nude basketball game for charity.  That I would HAVE to find the means to attend!  I mean, have you seen the  size of the sneakers guys like K.G., Glen Davis, and Kendrick Perkins wear??  I'm just sayin.'

(Hey, I may be old, but I'm not dead!)

Okay, that's the end of my salaciousnesss for now.  Back to my old semi-proper self tomorrow!

You are so crazy! Aren't these guys worried about, well, you know ... hurting certain parts of their body??

This might be unpopular, especially since I love the gentlemen in their full manly glory but I think I prefer men with their clothes ON. Not all of their clothes of course, but a man in shorts is sexier than a man letting his coin purse sway in the breeze.

Same for ladies though. I don't really want to see a lady "jamming out with her clam out" as the saying goes. I'm no prude but the pubic regions of either sex are NOT pretty in the broad light of day.

Yes I'm in training to be a nun.

Ha! I admit it. I watched the video! But a serious question though...how do they know who's on whose team if they aren't wearing jerseys? Hmmmmmm. I shall ponder upon that while I view the video again! :o)

OMG. EARS get regularly pulled off or at least mangled in rugby. I can only imagine what would happen to ... bits.

I don't understand the blocking out stuff.

I wanna know.

Wasn't here for the moose story....cool.

Driving back from Jersey there was a dead Bambi on the side of the highway....so sad.

LOVE the jokes you find!!! (Or do you make them up?
Somebody makes them up, why not you?)

Happy days in Maine....

Ok.. I'm not usually a follower of sports, and I don't usually enjoy watching them. But this is a sporting event I can get behind!! So fun! Looks like they had the best time ever during that cheer. And the game looks fun too. What a wonderful tradition.

Rose: It's certainly a daring sport!

Steven: You cracked me up with that comment! lol

Fabuleslie: Love your enthusiasm!

Elenka: You KNOW I didn't block anything out! lol Sorry about Dead Bambi. The moose story was on all the local channels. But you were busy having fun!
I wish I were smart enough to make up those jokes! Most of them come to me on email from friends who know I do Saturday Silliness on my blog.

Glen: I just looked up flag football on Wikapaedia and I see your point! lol

PrettyThings: Yeah, I can see where accidents could happen! lol

I have to say, I wish I were there. But if I'm wishing, I'd also wish that guy at the bottom of the steps with the weird spine tattoo had been captain.

Oh, I KNEW I liked you, Eva!! This is a HOOT!! One question, though: Don't they worry about all their "peas and carrots" being injured in that intense contact sport?! Ouch!!

This certainly made MY day. It hurt to laugh because I'm sick, but laugh I did! I didn't understand a word of the cheer, but I LOVED it! I especially loved when they "wagged" their "tail". Hysterical!

You are a woman I could hang around with! We definitely have the same sense of humor.

Did I see the size of the shoes those basketball stars wear? Ha ha! Too funny!

OMG. I love you. I may have to post about this myself!

OH MY SOUL!

I have to say...the view of the "leader" in his nice little white boxers...with them still on...not bad...not bad at all! :-)

This newly "single" gal certainly appreciates your post!

Canadian: You would think, huh?

MrsW said...

I know rugby has the funny shaped balls and all but rectangles and starts is just going too far!

Eva Gallant said...

Mrs. W: Well...I'm still pondering the question of how they know who's on what team with no jerseys to distinguish them? Tattoos?

gayle said...

Oh Wow!! that would be fun to see in person!!
