Get Back to Blogging Event, Day 2

I am participating in the Get Back to Blogging Event sponsored by SITS.  Read more about it in yesterdays post, Get Back to Blogging Event, Day One.  This time we are supposed to look back over our work and select a post we wish more people had read and why it was important to us.

The post below was another of my early attempts.  It was my first attempt at injecting some humor into my blog, and I thought I did pretty well with it.  But back then I had no followers, and only one person commented on it, so I don't even know if more than that read it, or whether my attempt at humor was actually humorous!

Catharsis Reeks!

This whole blogging thing is totally new to me. In someways it seems narcissistic to suppose there's anyone out there interested in reading my thoughts. It's also somewhat cathartic, and I say that with full realization that one of Webster's definitions of the word is "evacuation of the bowels." That being said, I guess you might compare this exercise to written verbal diarrhea! (no coincidence that some of my entries reek!)

If I am guilty of pollution of the blogosphere, I apologize. Please make allowances for the fact that I now have loads of free time and this is one thing I can do that doesn't cut into my social security check. (Welcome to life on a fixed income! ) It wasn't meant to be a fixed income. But then the bottom fell out of my (and a lot of other people's) 401k and tapping into it prior to a market comeback would be a no-win situation. I keep thinking that as long as I don't touch those funds, I have a shot at recovery. . . If I live long enough!

So...since I can't afford that trip to Aruba or much of anywhere else, here I am, blogging. I like to think of it as digital jogging; I should end up with really svelte digits by the end of the summer. I might even drop down a whole mitten size!

Yes, YOU ARE FUNNY!! It's so cool to read old stuff. And I know exactly how you felt about not getting feedback. I still feel like that on most of my posts, but I guess we just keep at it until something clicks.

Yeah, it's not been an easy time since we retired, has it, Eva? I'm in the same boat. Blogging is also a time sink, but I guess it's okay since I don't have a rigid schedule any more. And you have been funny since Day One, it seems.

I'm not sure if my fingers are any more svelte... but my typing speed has certainly increased in the time I've started blogging.
