Elvis, Chile Style!

We all watched with riveted fascination the rescue of the 38 Chilean miners.  Now, one of them ran in the New York Marathon and appeared on the Letterman show.  He stole the hearts of the audience members with his charm and charisma.  If you missed the Letterman show, I have the video which I borrowed from Deb at Blueberry Plains, with her permission, of course.

This is the guy who kept all the trapped miners entertained with his renditions of Elvis Presley tunes.  Interestingly he doesn't speak much English, yet he sings in Elvis songs in our language flawlessly.  This is probably why Priscilla Presley decided to fly him to the U.S. and also take him on a tour of Graceland.  Enjoy!

He was cute! Such a heartwarming story all around. (except that whole "mistress & the miner" drama, of course. That was just juicy!) I missed that episode of Letterman, so thanks for posting the clip! Who knows, he might just get a record deal out of it!

Peace,
Martha

iT IS AMAZING AFTER WHAT HE WENT THROUGH, TO SEE SOMEONE SO CALM , AND "NORMAL". WE CAN ONLY HOPE THE REST OF THE MINERS DO NOT HAVE SERIOUS SIDE AFFECTS. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS, THOUGH I HAD SEEN IT, LIKED WATCHING AGAIN!
