Act Happy Week

Tomorrow, January 21st, marks the beginning of Act Happy Week.  If you are like me, you were totally unaware that such a week existed.  That being the case, I felt the need to alert everyone so you can all be wearing your best happy faces from the 21st. through the 28th.

I'm going through my closet now, trying to decide what to wear on the first day of get happy week.  Ball gown?  No, too formal!  Bathing suit?  Too cold and disgusting!  The question is, What am I happiest wearing???

I have it!  My snuggie!  I will be wearing my snuggie and curled up in my recliner and watching things like What not to Wear, Project Runway, and Millionaire Matchmaker!  How could I be any happier??

Well, maybe if I had a bag of Hersey Kisses, but I'm not going to think about that.  (This is day18 with no Hersey Kisses, no Lindt Truffles, no chocolate or candy of any kind!)

Yesterday, during staff meeting, I made a suggestion that for our upcoming open house at work, we all wear matching Snuggies. I definitely think they are mulling it over.

I can't think of a happier week than one spent warm and cosy watching guilty pleasure TV and maybe a snack or too. It's what winter is for, no?

Happy week for me would include, margaritas, a hot beach, coconut oil and a hottie to rub it on me. Failing that I'll go with fuzzy slippers on the couch with a pizza. What a sad life I lead.

Ok, after my rant today, I could use a little Happy Week action. Thanks for the heads up! I'm totally wearing sweats to work.

No chocolate of any kind Eva? I'm feeling for ya, sister. I would be eating that little green guy with the coffee cup....or chewing on a sofa cushion. I couldn't take it.

But I'm so proud of you! And I will try to be happy tomorrow..honest I will. bah humbug

I shall be happy: it's the weekend for me and I've decided to be totally selfish and ignore all the people in my house under the age of 50! (I have my reasons.) What shall I wear? My sweat pants, lovely loose blue cotton smock and my fluffy red socks. And I shall be doing only what I want to do!

Now you didn't say it is "BE happy" week, but "ACT happy" week. So pasting on a fake smile, I head out the door...

Snuggie, good choice. I've been gone and I've obviously missed something...not chocolate? Oh no!

Off to "Act Happy". :)

Oh wow, I must prepare. I am thinking that happiness week will involve no cooking on my part.

Woohoo!!!! This is my kinda holiday!!! Laughin' and bein' happy (I don't have to act) just happens to be my speciality! :o)

Girl...no Lindt or Hersey's kisses for eighteen day??? You are a chocolate saint...I always allow myself a nibble if I crave it.

God bless and have yourself a warm cozy day!!!

Laz: Glad you liked it!

OutofMyMind: Thanks for the shout out on your blog!

Veg: Fuzzy slippers and pizza on the couch sounds pretty darn good to me!

Tam: If sweats to work make you happy, go for it!

Terri: No chocolate. But you have to realize I used to eat 2 or 3 bags of Hersey kisses or peanut butter cups per week. I'm an addict and was totally out of control!

Ann: I was just days away from an intervention, I'm sure, and decided to go on the wagon on my own!

Michelle: Happiness week for me would involve cooking on someone else's part!

Glenn: So glad the happy powder is having its effect! lol

That is a new one! What to wear is important, most important for happiness. Let's see, sweats and rain gear are my usual, but too casual. I know! Remain in pajamas all day.

Thanks for publicizing this Eva, I didn't know about it. My personal favorite is "Talk Like A Pirate Week" in the early fall. Why didn't the pirate go into the movie? Because it was rated "Arrrgh!"

Get all that happy-la-la crap out of the way now, because as we all know, March is "Be a Cranky Son of a Bitch Month".

Plus, my chances of acting happy during Act Happy Week are directly attached to the results of the Jets-Steelers game on Sunday.

GO JETS!

Oh yeah, you don't like football. Sorry.

Oh my gosh! Love the happiness fairy and a snuggie!

I'm gluing false teeth over my lips. There's no way I could act happy for a whole week without some serious cheek cramping otherwise.

injaynesworld said...

How can anyone be happy with out chocolate? But the snuggie and being a couch potato sounds nice.

Pastor Sharon said...

I do love the fairy you have posted!

Okay, now do you think it's unethical to preach this Sunday in my snuggie? I mean with it making me happy and all. . . .the thought of wearing it everywhere all week just makes me smile!

thanks for letting us know about this day. I am a marketing director during the week and this is good for me to have something fun to market with!

xoxo

Debbie: I wish you luck!

Laz: Now that's one I hadn't heard of!

Jayne: I'm learning and the snuggie helps!

BE happy week I could get behind, but act happy? For whose benefit? Bah!
