New England Bloggers' Luncheon

I think it would be great fun for the bloggers who live close enough and are willing to take the time to get together for lunch and just some face to face chat!  I know I've often wondered about the person behind the blog...haven't you.

Blog Boot Camps are great, but not everyone can afford the time and money to travel that far.  I propose that we meet at the Bull N' Claw Restaurant in Wells, Maine on Saturday June 4th, at 1:00 p.m.  (click on the link if you want to see my review of the place.) No big conference charge, because it won't be a conference!  We'll just have a drink, eat a great lunch and meet some blogger friends in person!

Why the Bull N' Claw?  Because if you look at the size of New England, Wells, ME is pretty centrally located, and they have an area with large tables suitable for any size group.  If anyone feels they want to  stay overnight in the area,or make a weekend of it,  there's lots to do....beaches nearby, Waterparks, an Animal Farm, Outlet Shopping malls, etc., and plenty of hotels and motels at varying prices from which to pick.  (Sorry, Chez Eva's one bedroom is fully booked.) Many of you are within a couple hours' drive, and you can get lunch and a cocktail at the Bull n' Claw for under $20 including tax and tip, so it doesn't have to be an expensive day--except for the price of gas!

I would like a $5.00 deposit from anyone who wants to come, as a firm commitment.  No Refund if you don't make it, but if you do come, the $5.00 will be applied to your lunch bill.  (The deposit request is so that I can reserve for a group, and know many seats we'll need.)

Let me know what you think of the idea, and please post a copy of this on your blog or notify any bloggers who live in the area and might be interested in attending.   I know I'd love to meet more of you in person and am hoping others feel the same way!

Email me with any questions, or to get my mailing address.  Also, deposits can be made to my paypal account.    evag@maine.rr.com

What do you think?

How about meeting halfway in New York, lol. Seriously, I hope you get enough people interested in this. Sounds like it would be a great time attaching flesh and blood people with their blogs and photos.

Sounds like a great idea, but I can't make it. Australia to Maine is a bit too far.....

I'd be there in a heartbeat! It might just cost me as much in gas to get there, though, as it would to fly, stay in a hotel and pay a standard conference charge. :( Have fun...I hope it works out!

Great idea, sounds like a lot of fun! Let me work on this, Eva. I would love to come! I'm weighing the options of making a weekend out of it and hanging out in Kennebunkport/York area rather than trekking back and forth from/to the midcoast all in one day. When do you need to know by?

Good for you for putting this together! I wish I could go, but it's just not in the budget. We have a wedding on the East coast in September. Great idea, though!

Eva my blogging friend, Unfortunately, I have a graduation to attend that weekend, but I do make it to Maine every other year or so, love Bar Harbor, Portland, etc. I promise that the next time I'm in your great state I'll give you advance notice and we'll grab lunch or dinner. Looking forward to it!

Oh, that'd be so great. But, it's a LITTLE too far for me! :-(
Actually, New York would work much better for me (it's always about me, huh?)
