New Hampshire National Forest

We took a drive to New Hampshire over the weekend.  The kids were camping at Covered Bridge Campground in the New Hampshire National Forest.  I took a couple of photos along the way and thought I'd share them with you.

I took a couple of shots of the Saco River, where it's just a stream, before it grows to be a full-fledged river.
Of course, the Covered Bridge Campground was near a covered bridge!
This photo looks a little strange because I took it from inside the car through the windshield.
The bridge is only wide enough for one car at a time, so you are expected to be courteous and wait your turn.  We waited for ours, and at the end of the bridge, you can see another driver waiting for their turn.
The vistas were amazing...I know I probably should have taken more photos, but I was just too busy enjoying the scenery!   Sorry about that!

While we were visiting, my daughter-in-law took a photo of Carter, me, Austin, and Mr. Eva, just hanging out.  I hope everyone had as good a weekend as we did!

Love the stream and little waterfall. I like those covered bridges you have in America. I don't think we have any of those here in Australia. Quite a shame really, we could use the shade.

On the east coast, the prettiest part of the country is New England. By far. And I've seen it all. I think the only place that has more impact on me is The Rocky Mountains.

What a lovely weekend! I want to be there. It's all dry here and my allergies are in overdrive.
I am a nut about covered bridges! They only place second in my heart to lighthouses. You lucky lady, getting to drive over one (or through one?)
Have a lovely day Eva!

Great Photos! I've seen similar sights in Vermont but haven't ever been to N.H. I'll need to add that to my places to see list!

Nice pictures -- especially the one of you with Mr. Eva looking so well recovered!

This area of Connecticut where I am at the moment has two covered bridges and they are not far from each other -- one in Cornwall and the other in Kent (Bull's Bridge)-- both cross the Housatonic River which is one of the prettiest in New England.

Beautiful photos! I was out on my bike a few years ago and came across a covered bridge I'd not known about. Things like that happen quite a bit when I get lost.

My weekend didn't involve any travel -- just a lot of gardening, garage cleaning and sweating.

Ah, you were up in my sister's neck of the woods...literally! She's just on the other side of the White Mountains in Franconia. Those mountins are where Bode Miller learned to ski when he was barely old enough to walk. We actually went to the place you pictured, but it was just after my knee surgery and I wasn't able to walk the trail. So nice to see pictures of what I missed!

Terri: We do have a few covered bridges in New England, and yes, it's an adventure to drive through one.

Canadian: I think I like the sound of my weekend better than the sound of yours!

Glenn: Sign me up for what?

Beautiful scenery! My niece and her family live in New Hampshire. Her oldest daughter just had a baby boy two weeks ago! I always get her to send me winter photos from up there in the summer because it's so dang hot here! Glad you had a great time!

Lovely photos, Eva. I see Mr. Eva is up and about, and I'm glad for both of you. Did you camp out too?

I've only seen covered bridges in photos and movies! They're so beautiful! I was born in NH but we moved when I was so young that I don't really remember much of anything. Looks like I missed out on a lot!!
