Balloon Fashions

Some time last year I posted about prom gowns made from duct tape.  I thought that was pretty far out.  Turns out, there are crazier creations out there!

Below is a video segment from a fashion show in Las Vegas, Nevada.  I'm assuming this was done as a joke or a "quirky look" at what can be done with a bunch of balloons, an air pump, and a creative mind. (click on the lower right hand corner of the video to increase to full screen size to get the full effect of these creations!)

I say they must be joking, because these dresses are so wrong!

First, what woman wants to look larger than she already is?  Even these runway models who are probably size "zero" look like they are voluptuous!  Imagine the effect these fashions would have on the average figure!

Second, get a little to close to those lights, or heaven forbid, a candle, and your dress melts into a puff of smoke!

Third, sitting in one of those would be like dropping your butt on a giant whoopie cushion, or popping bubble wrap; there would be no way to "sit quietly!" Pray there's a dog nearby to blame!

Fourth, a trip to the ladies room to "do your business" would present a quandary; how the heck would you ever:  a.  fit into the average bathroom stall, b.  reach your drawers to drop them, c.  sit on the commode without bursting a few 'bubbles,' and d.  wipe up after?

Yeah, they have to be joking!   Here's a link to some more balloon fashions, including some wedding gowns! wedding gowns and other "inflated fashions."

Do you have a favorite?  Am I the only one that thinks this is insane?

(I can envision the submissions to America's Funniest Videos now!)

This is beyond crazy! The faux-fart threat alone classifies this as insane! Gotta say, each time one of the balloons popped, I'd probably pass out!

I'm having visions of the consequences if any one of them would sit down...like bubble wrap on steroids!

It would be like wearing bubble wrap! I'd have a hard time keeping my fidgety fingers from popping them!

There's just no end to the 'creativity' (and I am using that term loosely here)of some folks. I guess.

Actually, I found it amazing that "ballons" could be thought of as being sssoooooo creative!!
Beyond that ---oh my gosh!!! can you picture some wise person , as a joke, {?}---making a "domino" effect..a real July 4th fireworks!!

Well, they are definitely thinking outside the box!

as with many fashion shows, the garments aren't made for real wearing, just an expression of creativity & art. but i kind of want to push some of them down to see if they bounce or how loud it is when they land.

I wonder what would have happened if one of the models tripped and fell on their outfit. Uh-oh. Kaboom! Neked as a jaybird! Ha ha!

Frisky: I love the term faux-fart threat! lol

Jen: I agree...someone with a cigarette could do a lot of damage!

Terri: I agree...incredibly creative!

Yes - insane, but kinda funny! Not as bad as the fashion shows I've seen using chocolate! Can you imagine that melting in certain parts! Ha!!

Jeanne: I haven't seen fashion shows with chocolate! Wild!
