On the Economy

After the somber tone of yesterday's posts, I thought it was time for something a little lighter.   Well, not that the state of our economy is the stuff of smiles, but Maxine's take on things may give you a chuckle or two!

Even the oil companies are feeling the pinch.

Celebrities are not totally above feeling the effects

Banks are tightening up the credit policies even more!

The reason they're lending policies are tighter?  They too are feeling the bite!

Even fast food joints are noticing the difference.

People are traveling less; the hotel industry is suffering.

Unemployment just won't go away.

Upper management has had to tighten their belts!

Wall Street is still under scrutiny from Congress:

Despite the media's drone of gloom and doom, I sincerely believe things are turning around.  At a snail's pace, without question, but turning, nonetheless.

It's good to laugh, and it's good to be positive, and I'm with you thinking things are getting better, slowly.

Living here now in Moldova, one of the poorest countries in Europe, it is difficult to complain when you see how people here manage with little.

Keep the jokes coming!

Gosh I love Maxine! And...I'm pretty crazy about Ms. Eva too! Love the bank ones. So freaking funny. But not all that far from the truth.
Thanks Eva, for my chuckles. Hugggzzz

I love every single one of these!

My own small economy, the household budget, is showing small signs of improvement now that I'm in a smaller place with much smaller rent payments. I'm surprising myself with how little I can get by on. I see it as good practice for when I'm surviving on an old age pension.

You are absolutely the queen of finding funny stuff. I love the pre-declined credit card and the insufficient funds...but every one was clever.

Thanks, Eva!

Ha! My favorite is Motel 6's! I just passed one the other day. They apparently don't care about the economy. That dern light was still on!

These were funny. I particularly liked the congressman and pre-declined!

It may just be me but as an FYI, I had trouble viewing the fastfood one (blurry or coloring?).

I don't want to say the economy is bad, but....
I'm so poor I can't even pay attention.

I especially love the pre declined card.

My family has always tried to find the humor in even the darkest of situations. It's a good place to come from, a place of laughing.

SheWrites: So true!

ipenka: Sorry that one wasn't clear. I like the predeclined for the credit card one too!
