A New Year's Day Giveaway!

I say let's start 2012 off with a giveaway!  Carol E. Wyler of Facing 50 With Humor has graciously sent me a copy of her book Mini Skirts and Laughter Lines to review and one to give away to my readers!  If you aren't familiar with Carol, you really need to click on the link above and go pay her a visit.  She also has her very own author website!  I am so excited for her!

Mini Skirts and Laughter Lines takes you on a journey with Amanda Wilson as she enters middle age--with 50 being the new 40--although she's not fully aware of that fact.  Saddled with an adult son having moved back home, a husband with a sagging sex drive, and salacious emails from a former suitor,  Amanda blogs about it all.  Her posts will give you giggles as you follow her through 'coming of age,' in not what she considers to be a good way.

Her husband Phil is more fascinated by the Financial Reports on the telly than her once fabulous fanny.  Then there's Tom, the prodigal son who was not gone nearly long enough.  He's happy to be home having Amanda cook his meals and do his laundry while he spends his evenings patronizing the pubs, and his days dozing.  His constantly being underfoot just adds to the tension in her already tense existence.

While husband Phil seethes with resentment at Tom's laziness, Amanda finds herself being the buffer between them.  Her solace from it all is her Chianti and an online Scrabble game with Todd, her first love, who professes to still have feelings for her and wants to rekindle the romance.

Add to the mix the possibility that Phil might be having an affair, her mother's cavorting in Cyprus with a boy-toy, and you'll find yourself thoroughly entertained by Amanda's antics.

I took the liberty of grabbing this video trailer about the book from Carol's website:

As I said, I have a copy to give away!  Let me know by commenting below if you'd like to be in the drawing.  You don't need to be a follower to enter, but I'd love it if you aren't already a follower and decided to become one!

I'll be accepting entries for a week.  The Winner will be announced next Monday, January 8th.  If you'd like a good book to curl up with on a winter day, this is the ticket!!

I was hoping - and praying - that 50 was the new 30!

I'm always up for winning a new book!

BTW - the Blogger link to your blog isn't working. I had to Google your name to finally get here.
