Random Ramblings!

The Boston Celtics won last night!  After a really slow beginning to their season, with ups and downs, flashes of brilliance in between outings of ordinariness,  they won their 3rd game in a row!  They beat the New York Nicks who were rated the number one team in the east, and managed to pull it off despite the fact that Rajon Rondo was suspended for a game and could not play.  Rondo is a key player for the team and as point guard, pretty much runs things on the court.  The fact that the team stepped up and performed in his absence is really great.  My love of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Avery Bradley, Jason Terry, and the rest of the crew continues!   Okay...enough ranting about my Celtics!

Jan 6, 2013 - 700 followers

A milestone has been reached!   As of last night, I have 700 followers!  I'm so excited and grateful that  there are that many people out there who are interested in what I have to say.  I'm truly humbled.

(Now, if I could get all of them to buy my books, I'd make a few bucks!  I can dream, can't I?)

Last Saturday I went to my grandson Austin's basketball game.  (He's the one in the blue shirt with the Number 1 one it!)  I was able to sit close enough to the team to see and hear their coach in action.  He does an awesome job with those kids; a couple of the players had never played before this year.  The entire team plays hard and is focused on the game.  I'm proud of my Austin, and of his coach, who just happens to be my oldest son, Eric.

A couple of weeks ago, I went out to dinner with three of my former co-workers.

Jeannine was my assistant manager when I worked in banking.

Bonnie was the branch manager who hired me.

Bonnie and Carol did their best to make a banker out of me....not an easy task, I'm sure.

We had a great time chatting and catching up.  We met at DiMillo's Floating Restaurant--yes, I said floating restaurant.  You walk down the pier and actually get on board.  The views are stunning.  I apologize that I was too busy chatting to take any other photos.

I did get a photo of my French Onion Soup, however....(I went to their website and borrowed it.)  The soup was awesome.   I had eaten a late lunch that day, so all I wanted for dinner was this soup--and it didn't disappoint!  We also did a Yankee Swap and I ended up with some liquid air fresheners for my car and a really neat notepad.   We've been getting together once of twice a year for at least the past 8 or 10 years.  Old friends are golden!

Okay, I confess; I did it again.  I watched The Bachelor and, of course, I'm hooked again and can't wait to see who Sean (Man, he's a hunk!) ends up choosing.  I just hope the show doesn't conflict with a Celtics game again, because switching back and forth is a pain.  I didn't want to miss anything!   Am I the only one who's a sucker for that show?

Be honest, now; 'fess up!

Congrats on the nice big following!! I love that you go out with your old friends like that - I'm working on building that tradition with my friends, as life pulls us seperate directions. I'm not a fan of the Bachelor (or much reality TV), but I know plenty of people who are, and they're all abuzz about this new season with this guy! So, you're not alone!

I love Sean too on the Bachelor. Didn't want to watch again as these shows are so silly but couldn't resist his smile.
