Freakin' Fryin' Friday!

It's in the high 90s and very humid in Maine. To avoid the danger of frying my brain, I shall refrain from posting today.  See you on Saturday!

Did you peek into my window and snap that photo of me? Ha ha! It's been hot here too in the Chicagoland area - heat index of about 102. There will be some relief today - only in the 90's and some rain!

I remember when my wife and I transferred from Florida to Maine in July, 1987. We drove a Ryder truck with her Camaro in tow behind. That's a story in and of itself. But, our route took us through South Portland. Since we thought it was too late to get to Brunswick, we decided to stay at the Miami Motel in S.P. I don't remember where it is EXACTLY (Rte. 1?) but we stayed, leaving the car still hitched to the truck. Anyway, the next morning, we found that our car had been broken into. The driver's window was smashed and things were taken (mind you, we traveled through Hoboken Frikkin' New Jersey and didn't have any problems). The S.P. policeman who investigated told us that, "Ya know, it's been wicked hawt around heyah. Mebbe the presshah of the heat with the cool of night just blew yer winder out." I pointed out the Florida license plate to Columbo but he didn't seem impressed. Granted, 88 degrees is a little "wahm" but when we left Jacksonville, it was 98 degrees.
That being said, Eva, stay cool, my friend.
Ya gotta watch out for the presshah.

High 90s! I'm so sorry you have to feel that heat.
Stay cool. Well, as cool as you can.
Wrap yourself in a damp bedsheet and sit by the fan.
