Murphy's Law is Alive and Well in Southern Maine!

I thought I'd give you an update, since so many of you have been kind enough to inquire how Mr. Eva is doing.

First, he had the knee replacement surgery which seemed to go well; the next day he had a TIA (mini-stroke).  He lost the use of his left arm for a couple of days, but did recover from that.  Then he was transferred from the hospital to a rehab facility.  Things were progressing well, except that his incision kept bleeding (a result of the anti-coagulants they started him on to prevent any further strokes; he has had A-fib (irregular heartbeat) for years, and that can cause a stroke.

Then he came down with an infection after 2 weeks in rehab, they returned him to the hospital for a week to get the infection under control.  While in the hospital, his incision was still bleeding, so they decided to re-open it, clean it out, and replace the movable parts to make sure there was no further infection.

Today or tomorrow he will be transferred back to the rehab facility, but he needs intravenous antibiotics daily for 6 weeks.

I hope there is light at the end of the tunnel!!   Thanks for all the kind words and support.  I promise I'll be back once he's home again!
