And The Missing Blogger Returns!
(I apologize for my long hiatus; it seems my muse has eluded me, leaving me both bemused and un-amused! Once again, I shall attempt to resume blogging. I make no promises, but here I go.)
Over the last few months I've spent my time trying to get healthier through exercise and diet. In February of 2014, I looked in the mirror and had a long conversation with myself. People were constantly asking me if I was okay, as I seemed to always be short of breath and "agasp" for oxygen.
I mentioned the last time I posted that I'd lost some weight (80 lbs.), and I've contined to work on that, although perhaps not with as much determination, but I'm now down 87.5 lbs. During the summer months I've been swimming in the Olympic size outdoor pool at the local gym. I did that last summer, too. Last year I was swimming 22 laps at a time; this year I increased to 25 laps, three or four times per week. It takes me an hour (I'm not a speedy swimmer) and I estimate the distance I swim each time to be the equivalent of 7/10ths of a mile.
Because I live in Maine, the outdoor swim season is coming to a close soon, and I'll be moving indoors to the treadmill. It's not as pleasant, but serves the purpose. My goal is to drop 150 lbs. total. I still won't be mistaken for Twiggy, but I'll feel even better than I do now. Wish me luck!
